Earlier this week we reported that an Apple iPhone 4 had spontaneously combusted onboard an Australian flight. Now it’s happened again in Brazil!
Once again, the trendy Apple smartphone apparently began to emit smoke and also started sparking whilst the owner was fast asleep.
In both cases, the device was an iPhone 4 which investigators believe contained either dodgy batteries or cheap counterfeits. A few months ago, Apple had to recall some iPod Nanos over concerns that the batteries could overheat and cause fires.
And it’s generally bad press for Apple recently, with it’s new iPhone 4S riddled with battery and reception issues.
